Brotherton Carnival Fundraiser

I am doing a gig at the above on Sat 2 Aug 2008 at the Three Horse Shoes, Brotherton, this is a fundraiser for the village to enable them to put on a carnival later in the year, activities are going on in the village, nearly every weekend up to (i think) end of September.

Okay-The Elvis Academy event takes place at The Ponderosa-Stockton on Forest-York, North Yorkshire-from 12 noon on the saturday 19th to 1am and 12 noon sunday to 12midnight.

The heat is on July19th-the saturday-although the event lasts the whole weekend.

ETAS wishing to take part should contact Eddie Vee on york 01904-782297 or email him at eddie_vee@hotmail.com asap.alifying round will take place between 3+ 5pm with each act performing 2 songs.

Welll we have hit a big problem with the venue -we just found out this morning that the cost of the Public Liabilty for the event has made it impossible for us to stage it at the Ponderosa -we would have needed a four figure sum upfront to cover the 2 days so I am sourcing a new venue for the sane dates and will let you all know as soon as poss.

At the moment the dates are still the same.

Hi all

Myself and Tess went to see Daniel last night and had a fantastic night. Daniel did 4 costume changes, Jacket/ Trousers for his first set where he sang a mixture of early rock n roll such as mean woman blues, party and Movie songs such as rockahula baby and the one he nails everytime c'mon everybody.

Mr Motown Lional did a fantastic job as compere, warming the crowd up, which proved to difficult at the start.

Daniel then came out in his 68' leathers and songs such as rubberneckin, ...

Okay -a new twist to the event is that it will now be having a heat for the final of the Official fan club Ultimate UK Elvis final in january-so if you win in York you go straight to the final. The qualifying round will be added in to the afternoon event and the top five will go to the final on trhe saturday night. The winning finalist can do a showcase 30 mins on the sunday as part of the prize for winning.

All etas that want to take part in the comp can still do a full 20 min set at the ...

The Grove nursing home review

Hi all

I did an 80th birthday at the above nursing home today, i do quite alot of gigs at nursing homes and this one was just as special. The twinkle some of these folk have in their eyes speaks volumes especially when some of these folk can't speak, bless 'em.

The comments i had was really uplifting, there was this fella sitting in the corner, when i came out for my first set with the speedway Jacket he said to me, "ere lad, am glad thaz took that fev shirt off" unfortunatley ...
